FAN PARTY OF A-HA

To honour the one and only concert of A-HA held in Budapest, a fan-party is organized on July 14th, 2011 in the Old Rams Music and Karaoke Pub (address: 1062 Budapest, Székely Bertalan u. 11. www.oldrams.hu ), where the organizers welcome all who like the music of a-ha and those, who would like to get to know their hits better.

The Norwegian pop-group A-HA has given his first (and sadly, last) concert on July 14th, 2010 in the Budapest Arena. This venue in Budapest has been included as one of the numerous stations of their Farewell-Tour. The last concert of this tour has been in Oslo, Norway, on December 4th, 2010. This time it was not a silent goodbye, like in the middle of the 90’s , but rather a fascinating celebration , paying hommage to their fans worldwide for a last time , to give them a chance for a final farewell. And all ended where it began…

Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy

The band has been formed in 1985 with three members. The trio of Pal Waaktaar-Savoy (guitar), Magne Furuholmen (keyboard) and Morten Harket (vocals) can claim chart-topping hits and a huge loyal fanbase all over the world as their own throughout their 25 years of  career. The characteristically Scandinavian, seemingly ageless, charming boyish features and thin-slit blue eyes of their frontman Morten Harket have surely left a definite mark in the memories of many women. With his outstanding voice he has enchanted crowds of women and men alike, abroad and on home grounds as well. A-ha still builds one of the pillars in the hall of high-level pop-music.

The band has suddenly become famous in Hungary at the end of the 80’s, then started to fade away from public recognition towards the middle 90’s. The success of their debut album and the famous first hit-single Take On Me has become worn-out and sank into oblivion.
As further success seemed to have fallen behind, the trio decided to disband. After pursuing their separate careers, solo albums started to emerge, but they could never outshine the success of a-ha .

Then at the end of the 90’s the trio has decided to reunite again. In 2000 they have come out with a brand new album, Minor Earth, Major Sky, with a fresh sound that marked a new era in the history of a-ha. They have recorded many albums  during their „big return” – the last, Foot Of The Mountain, being the most essential and matured, fully developed in its musical merits and cohesion.
