AIF BUDAPEST - FIRST CLASS HOLIDAY APARTMENTS

MOOSE CENTER OPENS DOORS
23 September 2006. - www.aftenposten.no

Norway's ever-present moose have attracted so much interest and attention in recent years that they're now the focus of a special center that opened over the weekend in Solør, northeast of Oslo.

The Norwegian Moose Center (Norsk Elgsenter) is billed as an activity and educational center focusing on the moose and other wildlife. It's not aimed to be a museum, but rather centers on moose hunting, wildlife management and food linked to wild game and the great outdoors. The center offers a shooting simulator, nature trails with activities and seminars on hunting dogs, among other activities.

Backing the Moose Center are foresty concern Borregaard Skoger, Våler Township and Hedmar County, with a grant from the state agriculture ministry. The center at Gravberget Gård also hopes to exploit the tourism aspects associated with the moose.
