VIDEOINSTALLATIONS OF VILLESEN IN MUCSARNOK

The Kunsthalle, Budapest and the Kisterem cordially invite you on 16 October, 2007 to the presentations of two new videoinstallations by Danish artist Gitte Villesen.

48 Western Magazines can be seen at 6 p.m. in the Kunsthalle – Menü Pont Gallery and A Silent Movie at 7.30 p.m. in the Kisterem.

Since the early 1990s, Gitte Villesen's video works have been telling stories, in a simple and unpretentious way, of every-day life and the personal and social circumstances of people she has met and whose personality, work, and life are of particular interest to her for a variety of reasons. 48 Western Magazines presents Éva Molnár, the art director of the Fészek Club, who gave Gitte Villesen and Sebestyén Kodolányi a thorough guided tour last summer. The way she moves around the Club shows her strong connectedness to it, and reflects over 50 years of experience in working and living there – almost as if she, herself, had become the house.

tranzit.hu presents the postcard-series edition Script for a Silent Movie (2006) by Gitte Villesen and Sebestyén Kodolányi. The series is a selection from the images of the photoinstallation comissioned by Műcsarnok / Kunsthalle, Budapest and supported by DAA, Copenhagen for the "Dreamlands Burn" exhibition in 2006.
